Crusher Supervisor

KPCL is looking for an experienced Crusher Supervisor to join our team on large projects within the mining industry in Northern Saskatchewan.
Where You’ll Be Working:
This position is based at our project sites in Northern Saskatchewan.
Position Overview:
Crusher Operators will work with a mobile crushing plant including Jaw, Cone, Screener, and multiple Conveyors alongside Caterpillar loaders and other support equipment to safely produce a variety of aggregate products. You will be a responsible and skilled worker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating crushing equipment in a safe and efficient manner, within its designed specifications
- Supervising, coordinating and scheduling the activities of workers
- Crush aggregate products using skillful ability in machine
- Working with other crew members to safely complete daily tasks and goals
- Helping out with physical job site labour tasks when required
- Communicate information and intentions clearly to keep job site safe
- You will be competent operating crushers and using screeners
- You must have a supervisory background
- An understanding of conveyors, loaders and associated aggregate and mobile heavy equipment
- Performing daily safety checks on conveyors, screen deck, crusher and other on site equipment as needed
- Maintaining equipment, logging, reporting and leading by example
- Comply with all company policy and procedures
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
An ideal candidate:
An ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys heavy equipment and earthworks construction. This person would enjoy operating primarily CAT heavy equipment that is clean and properly maintained. Having the willingness to help out with any aspect of construction on the job site is essential to achieving success.
Candidates should plan for work rotations that are 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with an 11/12 hour day as standard and overtime is required.

KPCL is looking for an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join our team on large projects within the potash mining sector around Saskatchewan.
Where You’ll Be Working:
This position is based at project sites within the potash mining sector throughout Saskatchewan.
Position Overview:
Earthworks Supervisors will work with on-site project management staff, heavy equipment operators and materials to construct a variety of different projects involving earthworks. Typical work can involve coordinating the people, equipment, and materials to successfully complete construction projects in an economical fashion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participating, promoting and engaging others in a culture of safety amongst employees, subcontractors and clients
- Have familiarity and competency with all earthmoving equipment in the fleet
- Working with other crew members to safely complete daily tasks and goals
- Lead and mentor existing crew members to build the next generation of high performing operators and other team members
- Complete projects in a safe, efficient, and economical manner while accommodating changes on short notice i.e.: people, equipment, materials, weather
An ideal candidate:
An ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys heavy equipment and earthworks construction. This person would have in depth earthworks construction experience ranging from road building, lagoons, underground infrastructure, and tailings ponds. A candidate will have to have leadership abilities, while being able to work with all levels of project staff in a cooperative manner.
Candidates should plan for work rotations that are 11 days on and 3 days off, or 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with an 11/12 hour day as standard and overtime is required.

KPCL is looking for experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our maintenance team at our newly expanded facility near Clavet, Saskatchewan (about 10 minutes east of Saskatoon).
Travel to project locations to support remote maintenance teams will be part of this role. Generally, our project operations are Saskatchewan-based, however, we do work across the western provinces at times.
About you:
- You have experience developing work scopes and schedules for maintenance and overhaul rebuilds
- You enjoy working with large equipment – dozers, graders, excavators, scrapers, and haul trucks (safety certification is an asset)
- You consider yourself to have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, experience with CAT SIS is an asset
- You can read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- You want to work with minimal supervision and are inspired to lead and mentor others sharing your knowledge in a professional manner
- You are committed to continued learning
- You have a basic knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft 365

This position can be based at either the KPCL Clavet Office, about 15 minutes east of Saskatoon off Highway 16, or KPCL Estevan Office.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage project payables and pay vendors in accordance to contract specifications, including but not limited to reconciling and job costing subcontractor invoices, calculating holdback releases, tracking change orders, forecasting cashflow requirements, and so on
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients for in-scope progress payments, out of scope billable hours and any other material or equipment costs, accounting for calculated holdback releases
- Track costs, change management and job progress, and prepare quarterly job reports to update stakeholders and management
- Assist the project management teams with specific requests and requirements
- Complete key duties and responsibilities accurately and thoroughly
- Adhere to government, provincial regulations and taxes to ensure compliance
- Actively participating, promoting and engaging others in a culture of safety amongst employees, subcontractors and clients
- Other related duties as necessary
What You Bring:
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, CPA designation is preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years of post-graduate accounting experience, with a background in construction helpful
- Industry Exposure: Experience working outside of a corporate office environment
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels

- Participating in business development initiatives and assisting with the preparation of Request for Proposals, tenders and bid documents in order to secure future work for the company

- Interpreting construction drawings and implementing designs in the field

- Surveying completed work and comparing against design
- Reporting quality department any discrepancies between completed work and final design
What You Bring:
- Education: Completion of post-secondary education in surveying, construction management, civil or geological engineering program
- Experience: 3-7 years of industry experience
- Industry Exposure: Must be skilled in unsupervised use of GPS and Total Station equipment, and proficient with construction staking (roads, corridors, piping, slopes, etc.) and as-built/topographic surveys
- Adaptability: Quick to respond to changes while maintaining alignment with long term direction
- Motivation: Energized by complexity and challenges, thriving in dynamic and evolving environments
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels

KPCL is looking for Student Project Coordinators to join our projects team that works within the heavy civil sector across Saskatchewan and Western Canada.
Where You’ll Be Working:
The Student Project Coordinator/ surveyor will have the opportunity to work at one or more of our many site locations throughout Western Canada.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Safety leadership and compliance:
- Promote and foster a culture of safety and compliance within KPCL’s health, safety and environmental program.
On-site management:
- With direction from senior staff, support the general operations of the assigned project(s) by assisting in project schedules and planning, organizing and securing equipment, human and material resources required in the execution of heavy civil projects
- Overseeing areas of the project(s) to ensure that it is executed on time and delivered economically, efficiently, and effectively, all within compliance of the required standards and specifications of the client
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Coordinators, Foreman and HSE Advisors to ensure daily activities are carried out safely and economically
- Adapting to meet changing priorities, and helping resolve issues and concerns arising in the field on a timely basis
- Tracking design changes and communicating with field staff to implement changes
- labour work onsite as necessary
Project reporting, tracking progress and completion:
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress including daily reports, construction schedules, delays, and damages
- Reviewing contract specifications to ensure understanding of measurement and payment terms
- Working closely with Surveyor(s) while also participating in the site surveying to confirm designs and contract quantities for payment
- Completing, interpreting and surveyor work as necessary for month end quantity verification and surface modeling
What You Bring:
- Education: Currently undertaking or completed post-secondary education in construction management, civil or geological engineering program
- Experience: 2-3 years of industry experience
- Industry Exposure: Experience working outside of a corporate office environment, preferably in the heavy construction or related industry
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop strong relationships and effectively consult and influence leaders across the organization
- Adaptability: Quick to respond to changes while maintaining alignment with long term direction
- Motivation: Energized by complexity and challenges, thriving in dynamic and evolving environments
- Process Improvement: Skilled with diagnosing and defining areas for improvement, and collaboratively creating resolve through processes, people and systems
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels
- Judgment and Problem Solving: Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills

KPCL is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to support ongoing projects in northern Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for managing and performing field survey work while coordinating closely with Project Managers, clients, and field teams. KPCL uses industry-leading technology including Trimble RTK GPS and Total Stations.
Where You’ll Be Working:
This position is based at our KPCL Clavet Office, about 15 minutes east of Saskatoon off Highway 16, with travel to project sites in northern Saskatchewan required as part of this role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform and manage field survey work with Surveyors and Survey Assistants
- Coordinate survey activities with Project Managers, including schedules, priorities, budgets, and survey methods
- Train and mentor new hire Surveyors and Survey Assistants
- Liaise with client field representatives and act as a KPCL company representative
- Prepare and communicate field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data
- Complete survey work using Trimble GPS and Total Station equipment
- Interpret construction drawings and implement designs in the field
- Review design and as-built survey data for submissions
- Track construction progress and prepare monthly quantity reports for payment
- Set up and manage electronic design models for GPS-enabled construction equipment (Caterpillar Accugrade / Trimble Grade Control)
- Monitor and report on daily project progress, schedules, delays, and damages
- Support continuous improvement of field processes and use of new technology
- Promote and actively participate in KPCL’s Safety Program
- Communicate clearly with crews, foremen, and superintendents
- Adapt to changing priorities and resolve field issues efficiently
- Willingness to travel between jobsites and work overtime as required
What You Bring:
- Experience: Working as a Survey Crew Chief or in a similar role
- Industry Exposure: Strong working knowledge of Trimble GPS and Total Station equipment
- Proficient with technology: Strong working knowledge of Trimble Business Center and ability to work independently to develop construction models for implementation in the field
- Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot survey equipment and machine control issues
