Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
Oversee recruitment and strategic workforce planning:
- Work closely with Senior Leadership to develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies that effectively attract, engage and retain a predominantly seasonal workforce.
- Lead the recruitment process, overseeing the full recruitment lifecycle, including creating compelling job descriptions and advertisements, managing candidate applications, conducting interviews, and negotiating job offers
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices ensure our hiring strategies meet evolving needs.
- Overseeing onboarding activities, conducting orientations to foster a positive ongoing work experience as necessary.
Uphold professional standards:
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive personal information across all HR initiatives.
Program development, enhancement and analysis:
- Develop and refine HR programs, policies and processes, such as Employment Agreements, Fitness for Duty Policies and Modified Work Programs, ensuring they meet legal and regulatory requirements and align with organizational goals. Create relevant training materials as needed.
- Lead the analysis and reporting of key HR metrics, providing strategic insights into hiring efforts, diversity and inclusion engagement, turnover rates, and other KPIs as defined by Senior Leadership to inform strategic decision making.
- Work closely with the Payroll team on matters related to wages, benefits, and modified work programs to ensure seamless integration of HR initiatives and accurate payroll processing.
Manage personnel records:
- Oversee the accuracy and maintenance of personnel-related data, including onboarding packages, training records, benefits eligibility, performance reviews, and any other HR documentation.
Administer claims management:
- Work closely with the HSE team to manage long-term disability and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
Support employee relations:
- Provide guidance and support to leaders within KPCL in addressing employee relations issues, fostering a respectful and productive work culture.
- Mentor and provide guidance to the HR team in their professional growth and performance.
Foster a collaborative and respectful culture:
- Promote and demonstrate a culture of safety and compliance with health, safety and environmental program, holding yourself and others accountable.
- Champion diversity and inclusion, leading initiatives that promote equity, diversity and inclusion both within KPCL and in broader community initiatives.
Travel and flexibility: Be prepared to work additional hours as necessary to meet the demands of the role. Some travel may be required at times.
Additional responsibilities: Perform any other duties as assigned by the employer, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization.
Qualifications
What You Bring
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience: 5-7 years of leadership experience in direct people management, with a strong background in high volume, fast-paced recruitment
- Industry Exposure: Experience working outside of a corporate office environment, preferably in the heavy construction or related industry
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop strong relationships and effectively consult and influence leaders across the organization
- Adaptability: Quick to respond to changes while maintaining alignment with long term direction
- Motivation: Energized by complexity and challenges, thriving in dynamic and evolving environments
- Process Improvement: Skilled with diagnosing and defining areas for improvement, and collaboratively creating resolve through processes, people and systems
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels
- Judgment and Problem Solving: Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Saskatchewan employment legislation and regulations; knowledge of other Western Canadian provinces is an asset

KPCL is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Maintenance Supervisor to join our maintenance leadership team at our Clavet, Saskatchewan facility. In this role, you will be required to travel to remote project sites throughout Western Canada to support project-based maintenance teams. Reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Manager based in Estevan, Saskatchewan, you will lead and mentor maintenance staff across all operations.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leadership and Training: Lead maintenance staff, providing guidance, teaching and evaluating apprentices.
- Collaboration: Work with, and take direction, from the Fleet Maintenance Manager and Senior Leadership to plan and schedule maintenance team and maintenance for equipment.
- Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to assess performance and identify issues, documenting inspections in Preventative Maintenance system.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot systems:
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing systems – for example hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical – to identify faults and perform cost-effective repairs. Develop work scopes and schedules for equipment to be repaired. Test repaired equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Documentation and reporting: Document all maintenance and repair tasks, utilizing tablets and computers for accurate record-keeping. Order parts and complete work orders (KPCL uses HCSS Equipment 360 Fleet Maintenance).
- Safety leadership and compliance: Promote and foster a culture of safety and compliance within KPCL’s health, safety and environmental program. Lead morning toolbox meetings and weekly safety meetings, documenting outcomes. Hold yourself and others accountable for adhere to company (and client) policies, procedures, and provincial regulatory requirements in both shop and project site settings.
- Permitting for loads: Permit overweight and dimension loads for the lowbed division as needed. Helping to secure or provide resources to prepare and load equipment for mobilization.
- Travel and flexibility: Be prepared to work additional hours and travel to other locations as necessary to meet the demands of the role.
- Additional responsibilities: Perform any other duties as assigned, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization and resolving issues arising in the field on a timely basis.
Qualifications
What You Bring
- Minimum of 5 years post-Journeyperson experience or Red Seal Accreditation, prior experience in a related discipline such as servicing, fuel/ lube technician may be considered
- Experience developing work scopes and schedules for equipment to be repaired, scheduling and monitoring maintenance team throughout completion
- Proficiency in working with large haul trucks, dozers, graders, excavators, and scrapers; previous experience with heavy trucks and trailers (safety certification for trailers is an asset)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, experience with CAT SIS is an asset
- Proficient in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while demonstrating professional work behaviors
- Commitment to continuous learning and skill development
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to improvise and adapt to the evolving needs of the project location

We are currently seeking experienced Excavator & Dozer Operators to join our team on large projects within the potash mining sector around Saskatchewan.
Position Overview:
Heavy Equipment Operators will work with on-site heavy equipment and materials to construct a variety of different projects relating to earthworks. Typical work can involve bulking out dirt, digging/laying pipe, and constructing earthen dams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner, within its designed specifications
- Construct earthworks projects using artistic skillful ability in machine
- Working with other crew members to safely complete daily tasks and goals
- Helping out with physical job site labour tasks when required
- Communicate information and intentions clearly to keep job site safe
An ideal candidate:
An ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys heavy equipment and earthworks construction. This person would enjoy operating primarily CAT heavy equipment that is clean and properly maintained. Having the willingness to help out with any aspect of construction on the job site is essential to achieving success.
Candidates will have to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening (including cannabis) as well as have a valid driver’s license to meet role requirements.
Candidates should plan for work rotations that are 11 days on, 3 days off, with an 11/12 hour day as standard, overtime is required, and 4 days are taken off for long weekends.
